How has this week been for you?
Bit of up. Bit of down? Some moments of energy. Others when there is none?
Maybe there has been more of one than the other?
Got a to-do list (or many) full of things you really want to do… and yet you find it hard to consistently motivate yourself to do them?
True story- me too.
There is nothing more predictable than the neurodivergent brains ability to have peaks and troughs. And I am no different.
It can be all the flavours of annoying and frustrating.
And this mainly comes from the notion that we have to be ‘consistent’. It started when we were wee things as kids having to be in school paying attention for fixed and prescribed periods of time… and since then we have been squishing ourselves into this notion that we should be able to focus between Monday and Friday from 9am – 5pm
Well this is going to be no newsflash - that just doesn’t work for you.
What if you were able to work with your body and brain? How much easier would your life be if you cultivated even a tiny bit of working when you had focus and energy… and
And I want to be radical here…
What if you were able to give yourself guilt-free permission to rest when you needed it?
Every Wednesday in How 2 Entrepreneuro we have a free peer coaching session. And often there is encouragement for people to experiment with working with, rather than against, what your brain and body needs.
And I am not going to lie.
This takes time.
For most of neurospicy folx we sit in a world where we have to be doing something. All. The. Time. Resting is an alien concept and most people I work with feel like they don’t even have the ability to rest.
Yet, it is possible.
To consciously curate a life that works with you… one tiny action at a time.
For some it has been giving themselves permission to finish drinking their coffee before starting. Others it has been allowing themselves to work at a time when they are most productive- whether that is 10 am, 6pm or midnight. One of my clients it has been doing some crafting between work tasks.
And the benefits are not always immediate…
What I can promise is as you work more in alignment with your energy and attention you will get more energy biscuits, more of the time.
